GET SEEN ONLINE
Last updated: 25 July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Get Seen Online ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects personal data in connection with your use of our Platform and Services, as described in our Terms and Conditions. It should be read alongside those Terms and our Cancellation Policy.
1. Who We Are
Get Seen Online is a trading name of Michelle Davidson, a sole trader, trading from 61 Bridge Street, Kington, HR5 3DJ, UK.
For the purposes of UK data protection law, we are the controller of the personal data described in Section 3 below, and a processor in respect of Content and client data you upload to the Platform, as explained in Section 4.
You can contact us about this Policy at [email protected].
2. Scope: Two Different Roles
We handle personal data in two distinct capacities, and this Policy covers both:
As controller, in relation to your own personal data as an Account Holder or Team Member, for example your name, contact details, and billing information.
As processor, in relation to any Content you upload to the Platform, including your own clients' or customers' contact details, held on your instructions and for your purposes, not ours. If you upload personal data belonging to your own clients or customers, you are the controller of that data and are responsible for having a lawful basis to collect and process it. Our role is limited to processing it on the Platform in accordance with your instructions.
3. Personal Data We Collect (as Controller)
We collect and process the following personal data about you as an Account Holder or Team Member:
Account details: name, business name, email address, phone number, login credentials.
Billing information: billing address and payment details, processed on our behalf by our payment provider, Stripe. We do not store your full card details ourselves.
Communications: any correspondence between you and us, including support requests.
Usage data: how you use the Platform, for security, support, and service improvement purposes.
4. Personal Data We Process (as Processor)
Where you use the Platform to store or manage your own clients' or customers' contact details, workflows, or other Content, we process that data solely to provide the Platform to you, on your instructions. We do not use this data for our own purposes, and we do not sell it or share it with third parties except where necessary to provide the Service (see Section 6) or where required by law.
5. How We Use Your Personal Data
We use the personal data described in Section 3 to:
provide, maintain, and support the Platform and Services;
process payments and manage your subscription;
communicate with you about your account, including service updates, billing, and support;
send you marketing communications where you have consented to receive them, or where otherwise permitted by law (you can opt out at any time);
comply with our legal and regulatory obligations;
protect the security of the Platform and our Account Holders.
Our legal basis for this processing is that it is necessary for the performance of our contract with you, necessary for our legitimate interests in operating and improving our business, or, for marketing communications, your consent.
6. Who We Share Data With
We share personal data with the following categories of third party, solely as needed to provide the Platform and Services:
Stripe, our payment processor, to process subscription payments.
The underlying platform infrastructure provider, which hosts and powers the Platform, including any Content and client data you upload. Details of this provider are available on request.
Any other sub-processor we engage to provide a specific feature (for example, SMS or email delivery), disclosed to you on request.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK or European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where this happens, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the UK's International Data Transfer Addendum or equivalent standard contractual clauses, to protect your data to UK standards.
We do not sell your personal data, or your clients' data, to any third party.
7. Data Retention
We retain your account details for as long as your subscription is active. Following cancellation, we retain your account and Content for 6 months in case you wish to reactivate, as set out in our Cancellation Policy, after which it may be permanently deleted. We retain billing records for as long as required by UK tax law (currently 6 years).
8. Your Rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
access the personal data we hold about you;
have inaccurate data corrected;
request erasure of your data, subject to our legal and contractual retention requirements;
restrict or object to certain processing;
receive your data in a portable format;
withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. If you're not satisfied with our response, you have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
If you are an Account Holder processing your own clients' personal data using our Platform, requests from your clients about their own data should generally be directed to you as the controller, not to us.
9. Cookies
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies. Cookies are small files stored on your device that help a website function properly and, where relevant, help us understand how it's being used.
Strictly necessary cookies
Some cookies are essential for our website and Platform to work, for example to keep you logged in or to remember items in a checkout. These don't require your consent, and we don't use this Policy to ask permission for them, as they're needed to provide the service you've asked for.
Analytics cookies
We may use analytics tools, such as Google Analytics, to understand how visitors use our website, so we can improve it. Where we do, this Policy will be updated to name the specific tool in use.
UK cookie law changed on 5 February 2026, when the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 introduced a limited exemption allowing some first-party analytics cookies to be used without prior consent, provided they're used solely for statistical, site-improvement purposes and the provider acts purely as our processor. Google Analytics does not qualify for this exemption: Google also uses the data it collects for its own advertising and product purposes, meaning it acts as a joint controller rather than purely a processor. If we add Google Analytics (or a similar third-party analytics tool that shares this characteristic) to our website, we will only set its cookies after you've given clear, informed, opt-in consent through a cookie banner, and you'll be able to withdraw that consent as easily as you gave it. Where analytics data is shared with a provider based outside the UK, such as Google, the safeguards described in Section 6 apply.
Managing cookies
You can control or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Where a cookie banner is in place on our website, you can also manage your preferences or withdraw consent there.
This section will be updated with a full list of the specific cookies in use, and their purpose and duration, once analytics or other non-essential cookies are actually added to the site.
10. Children
The Platform is intended for business use only and is not directed at, or intended for use by, children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Where changes are material, we will notify you by email or via the Platform. The "last updated" date at the top of this Policy shows when it was last revised.
12. Contact Us
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your data, please contact us at [email protected].
